Learning to celebrate the goodness of God
Step 1: Be Open
When we except that God is ever present and desires to be in constant communion with us, that implies that he may speak or engage us at any time during our day. But due to busyness or distraction we may miss the presence of God in our lives. Therefore, we must posture our hearts and minds daily to be receptive, always ready to engage or perceive the presence of God. Being open, means to consciously remember the presence of God daily.
Begin your day by sharing with God the desires of your heart including the situations in your life and the world around where you need and hope he will intervene. Ask God for eyes to see and remember ways He has displayed gracious acts of kindness.
As you go about your day look for:
Unexpectant encounters
Victory over temptation to sin
Answered prayer
Acts of kindness from friends or strangers
The outcome of you showing kindness to others
Step 2: Outstanding Moments
The presence and power of God stand out in the ordinary Ness of life. It could be an extraordinary sunset or a child randomly saying something profound. In other words, the moment stood out. Or maybe a timely passage of scripture came to memory at just the right time. When you experience these moments don’t push them aside learn to celebrate them as boom moments.
Write down the moment.
What happened
How did it feel when you experienced
Was it an answered prayer
how did it change your day ]
What specifically about God’s character was on display
Step 3: Taste and See
The habit of celebration is reinforced when disciples savor and share the boom moments with others sharing these moments with others helps us to relive and experience the power of God repeatedly and revealed the goodness of God where others may have overlooked him.
Is there one person or group of people you can share this moment with by:
telling the story over a meal
to worship god by signing and prayer
to brag on all other time God showed in an outstanding moment
